the trees stood tall, as if they stretched long enough to reach the sky. the sound of birds chirping filled the park. unfamiliar faces about their own activities, yet still found time to stare at the girl sitting alone. their thoughts, a plethora for me to wonder. did they think i was hugging my knees because i was cold? did the thought that i had nowhere else to go cross their mind? would any of them had approached if i started crying? sometimes we don't need anything to keep us company, our imagination should do the job well enough. but not today, apparently. words waiting to leave my lips but shoved back inside. tears threatening to spill over but welled up.
no pen to let the ink be my advocate.
no music to resonate in the background, make the pain fade.
no one.
and i am an idiot for not turning to the only one who wanted to listen. forgive me, Lord.
