the continual spinning hypnotizes you into a trance. the whirring sound of the blades soothing your mind to shut itself off. staring blindly at a ceiling fan seems like something a crazy person would do. sometimes, doing something as inane as this pulls you back to earth. from wherever your soul was wandering. it makes you ask yourself why you have time for such absurdities and yet claim you are too busy to talk to God.
it doesn't have to be an hour in the night spent focused on Him. because obviously we are creatures of an attention span a little too short to perfect that. maybe if we could just ask God what he thinks, every time we are about to do something, make a decision. if we could say a 'thank you' everyday. i don't know, but i have a feeling God might just feel that's enough.
