Contradiction.

When you say something you don't mean and you can't take it back, you attempt to salvage whatever is left by saying the inverse, the truth. Maybe they've forgotten your very first words. Maybe, they don't care. 


Maybe, the truth is just a fabricated lie. Maybe, lies are all we speak. 

Maybe, it's time to stop.
